Author of the Echoes of Empire Chronicles
Teddy Harris is the author of the Echoes of Empire Chronicles, a classic-style science fiction saga blending space opera, family legacy, romance, political consequence, and the enduring effects of choices made across generations.
A lifelong reader, Harris grew up in Rossville, Georgia, where books opened the door to history, imagination, exploration, and distant worlds. His love of reading began at the old library beside the Rossville fire hall and remained with him through decades of public service, business, family life, and a long-held dream of becoming an author.
The foundations of the Echoes of Empire Chronicles began more than forty years ago as ideas, maps, names, and possible storylines recorded in an old green notebook. After leaving public office, Harris returned to those early notes and began developing the story that had lived in his imagination for much of his life.
His novels explore duty, honor, love, sacrifice, ambition, leadership, mortality, and the consequences that follow when humanity reaches beyond wisdom in its pursuit of power.
Although set among distant worlds and future civilizations, the heart of the series remains firmly centered on people, families, relationships, and the decisions that define them.
Before turning his attention more fully to writing, Harris served the people of Rossville for twenty years in elected office. He was first elected to the Rossville City Council in 2003 and later served twelve years as the city’s 31st mayor, from 2012 through 2023.
Harris has lived in Rossville for more than sixty years. His earliest memories include growing up on Beech Street, exploring the slopes and hollows of Missionary Ridge, and spending summer days fishing near the John Ross House. He attended North Rossville Elementary School and Rossville Junior High School before graduating from Rossville High School in 1981.
Today, in addition to writing, Harris serves as the part-time chief financial officer of H&H Furniture and Antiques, his family business specializing in high-end furniture and fine antiques for clients across the country.
He and his wife, Karen, have been married for more than thirty five years. They have one son, Benjamin, a graduate of Dalton State College and the owner of H&H Furniture and Antiques.
Teddy Harris continues to reside in Rossville, Georgia. The first three volumes of the Echoes of Empire Chronicles have been published, and Book IV, Virgil, is scheduled for release in fall 2026.
